Minorca offers unbeatable opportunities to enjoy a combination of sporting activities and nature.

The marine environment enthusiasts will find a range of possibilities, from taking a swim at any cove in the island, to more sporty activities like windsurfing, sailing, water skiing, fishing, navigating a lateen sail or scuba diving. Boat excursions are made all around the island, with visits to the main points of interest on the coast. Developed areas of Minorca offer various services: scuba diving centres (from basic to advanced levels), windsurfing services (Fornells is renowned for its windsurfing) and the possibility to practice other nautical activities and sports. Other options are some of the sporting ports that line the coast: Maó, Addaia, Fornells, Ciutadella or Cala'n Bosch, among other smaller nautical facilities.

Equestrian activities can be carried out at any of the numerous race courses and equestrian clubs of the island, especially in Maó, Ferreries, and Ciutadella. Trail riding excursions along rural tracks is an interesting possibility for combining equestrian activities with nature. Fans of this sport will also be able to enjoy trotting races in the Maó and Ciutadella race courses.

Cycling can be practiced in good number of secondary roads and rural ways, on programmed and guided excursions or by making your own route. Also, there are specific hiking and trekking routes to enjoy the nature and the landscape of the island, or to observe birds and natural habitats.

For people who love camping, there is one area Son Bou, and another camping site called S'Atalaia is located in Galdana Cove road. Camping in the Natural Areas of Special Interest is prohibited.

The municipal sports centres, swimming pools, tennis courts and other facilities, also offer an ample range of sports in all the municipalities of the island and in most urbanisations. Even you can play a bit of cricket in Sant Lluís.

Speleological sites can be found on the coast and in the interior of the island, thanks to the great amount of caves that open to the surface in cliffs and gullies.

To this list of activities, trekking must be added which has more up takers every day who find Minorca the ideal place for this sport. At the moment, the "Camí de Cavalls" law is being passed, which is a projected path that follows the entire coast of the island.
